Mini Kickers Gold Coast

Mini Kickers Gold Coast

Our ‘Mini Kickers’ programmes offer children ages 2 – 10 years old a positive introduction to Soccer and teach them the basic skills in preparation for joining club soccer.  Our programs offer a genuine pathway through the various programs and into club Soccer where the players will already have a good understanding of the game & basic skill level. Each program is age appropriate with specific learning objectives which are centered around fun based sessions & small sided matches.

Programme: Boomers
Day of week: Friday 4-5pm

Start Date: Fri 12 Feb
Duration: 1 hour
Description of the programme:
These years provide a great opportunity to create good habits within our young players. Again, a large emphasis of both training and match days is on having fun and enjoying their soccer. This is important as we want the children to love playing the game.

Each session is now spent developing individual skills such as encouraging players to dribble, perform skills with their heads up and enhancing their flair. Players will take part in many 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 practices. These will encourage them to try skills, develop close control and be confident with the ball at their feet. The latter being an important factor for any aspiring soccer player.

As well as preparing the player for the next step along the Soccer X Pathway these sessions will help develop and improve the following attributes:

  • Each player comfortable & composed with the ball at their feet
  • Understanding of different roles & responsibilities on the pitch
  • Encourage players to make their own decisions on the pitch

Example Session:

  • Warm up – Ball work / Individual skills
  • Session topic e.g., passing, dribbling, shooting. Unopposed and then opposed
