Welcome To
X'tra Program
training sessions outside of team training
About the programme
The 2022 season will see the introduction of our ‘X’tra program’ which provides 3 additional (optional) training sessions per week outside of team training. All sessions will run at Burleigh Heads SC. Players will be split into groups according to age & ability therefore players of all abilities are welcome. Players from all clubs are also welcome.
The aims of the X’tra program is to provide players an opportunity to work on specific aspects of the game that may not be worked on regularly during team training sessions. The sessions will mainly be centred around personal player development which will help players when in a collective team environment.
The sessions will run weekly alongside the season. There will be weekly payment options and you can select 1, 2 or 3 sessions per week with an option to stop / start at any time with a weeks’ notice.
Over the coming weeks we will be running some Free come and try sessions to give players an incite as to what the sessions are all about and how they will benefit them.

With the game continuing to get faster year on year, it is important each player maximises their physical capabilities.
Players will go through a range of soccer specific drills each session to improve players speed, agility and strength on the field.
Physical
Help develop speed over the first 5-10 yards which is vital for soccer players both with and without the ball.
Help increase strength on and off the ball to ensure you come away with the ball in any 50/50 with opposition players.
Monday’s
U8 – U11:
4.30 – 5.30pm
U12 – U18’s:

Sessions largely focused on developing individual skills / techniques. Players will have a ball at their feet for the majority of the session and involved in a range of opposed and unopposed practises.
Helping players gain confidence in receiving the ball under pressure and increasing awareness of where they are on the field.
Technique, Skills, Awareness
Fine tune basic techniques, passing control, receiving the ball, shooting, heading + more all within realistic and game related practises.
Increased technical level will help give players an edge come game day, ensuring their first touch is on point allowing them more time & space on the ball in turn increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
